Christmas already?

Hi,

What a weekend in Shrewsbury at Shrewsbury Christmas. Eight inches of snow giving the Quarry Park a truly Alpine feel.
A huge thank you to all the wonderful visitors and for all the lovely comments about my glass and interest in my workshops; hope to see you soon in 2018.
Unfortunately I had to take Sunday as a ‘snow day’ as my road into town wasn’t passable and that’s assuming I’d have been able to get down the drive!  So, my sincere apologies if you missed me on the Sunday.

Next weekend, 16th & 17th December, I am opening up a small exhibition/shop in my shed!  Peope have often asked if they can come and have a look at my glass at the studio and I didn’t have any room for a display area.
I do now! My hobby/garden shed has been repurposed. Whitewashed inside, with new blinds and rug from Ikea (you’ve got to love Ikea), it is now a cosy & permanent display space for my glass.

I will be open 11am to 4pm both days and then in the evenings, 6 – 7.30pm, on alternate days; Tuesday 19th, Thursday 21st and Saturday 23rd. I’d love to see you if you are out this way – mulled wine or a hot drink to tempt you too!
Plus, it will always be at the ready to open as long as I am about, just give me a callFind me on Google maps.

For a very ‘on trend’ present why not give a Gift Voucher for a fusing workshop.  They are perfect for a crafty friend who likes to experience something new. You can buy to the full workshop value or simply purchase a voucher to the value you prefer and the recipient can choose to put it towards a workshop or a piece of unique studio glass. They are easy to buy and even easier to give or post.

A few pieces of my work including ‘Chicanery’ shown left, are at The Trumpet Corner Gallery and Tearooms until Christmas, and I will be there on Saturday 23rd December ‘Meet the Maker’ 10am – 4pm.

And if our paths don’t cross, I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and perhaps more importantly a Peaceful and Plentiful 2018.

Goldener Oktober!

Hi Everyone,

No I don’t speak German, its just this time of year always makes me think of these words. Beautiful colours, beautiful light (when its not a dull, drizly day) and a shift from the outdoorzy carefree days of summer to the coziness of real fires and hot drinks. I really need to make something in these colours

I had a brilliant 10 days at h.Art and spoke to many fabulous people about – well – glass of course. And I sold some new and some favourite pieces too.

So what’s up next?

Rather than giving workshops I’m attending one over the next week down at the fabulous Glass Hub near Trowbridge, with master glassman Karl Harron. I’ve been waiting 2 years to do this so I am really, really looking forward to it; and then combining new skills with ‘old’ to see what we can come up with

Then it will be focus on Christmas and my next ‘pop-up’ at Gorgeous Contemporary Craft and Food Fair,  Enginuity, Coalbrookdale. Gorgeous is a lovely event and a perfect place to get some really unusual, hand made locally (Shropshire, Worcestershire, Staffordshire) Christmas gifts and ‘nice’ things for your Christmas at home.

As soon as I get back from my jollies I’ll be making this years limited edition Rudi ‘Xmas decs’ and some new friends too I hope – its all in my head at the moment!

And Captain Slow at updating this website I’m afraid. But we’re getting there.
Contact me for workshop dates if you would like to make your own unique Christmas Gifts or decorations. And don’t forget a workshop gift voucher makes a lovely present for someone creative too.

See you soon
