Saturday January 13th, 2018 10am – 1pm. Half day Fusing Taster

Workshop structure:

♦ Safety in the glass studio – it’s all common sense really!
◊ What is glass fusing? And other terms we use.
♦ Introduction to art glass; types & compatibility and the tools you will use.
◊ Learn to cut and handle glass with confidence – yes you can!
♦ Various design techniques

You will create up to 4 coaster or tile sized ‘projects’ (10cm square), two of which can be slumped into trinket dishes if you wish.
These could be 4 the same, 2 pairs or all different and it’s your choice. You can even cut them smaller if you wish.
I will guide you through techniques to create your own pieces; it may be abstract or pictorial, working with cut coloured glass, glass frits & stringers and/or glass powders – let’s see where your creativity takes you.

You will place your finished projects in the kiln ready for firing, we do the rest.

Firing; fusing & slumping, are overnight processes and will take place during the following 2 weeks. Your lovely fused glass can be collected after that.  If you can’t collect we’ll post out at cost, depending on size & weight.
