Come & spend 3 more hours ‘playing’ with glass. After a brief reminder on safety you will be free to create your own fabulous fused glass.
We expect you to know the basics of glass fusing and how to cut glass.

You will work with larger pieces of tekta as your ‘canvas’ and, as always, you are encouraged to create what you want. We are here to introduce, guide & advise on new techniques to achieve your goal and create more delightful fused glass art.

from Fusing Ideasworkshops

We supply absolutely everything you will need; equipment, materials & refreshments; just come and enjoy.

Workshops all take place at our small, well equipped studio in Worthen, Shropshire SY5 9HN, google maps: Fusing Ideas Glass

Class sizes are minimal while we negotiate our way through Covid-19. Just 2 individuals – which means a great student to teacher ratio.
If you are a small group – up to 4 – we can arrange a date just for you so message or call me.

Workshop structure:

The structure will be led by you, so after a reminder on safety and any refresher you might like, you can start creating!

You can choose to make a 25cm sq plate or bowl, a large freestanding curved artwork (often called a lamp bend) or a large free standing serpentine wave form. You are also free to cut your base glass into smaller ‘project’ sizes if you wish.

Techniques you might use:

  • Reactive glass
  • Powders
  • Bubbles
  • Cutting to fit
  • Strip cutting

We do encourage you to try out different techniques as we guide you through creating your own designs – abstract or pictorial – working with coloured glass sheet, frits & stringers and/or powders – see where your creativity takes you.

Glass fusing workshop

You create and place your projects in the kiln ready for firing, we do the rest.

Reminder:
Firing; fusing & slumping, are separate overnight processes and will take place during the following 2 weeks. Your gorgeous glass can be collected after that.  If you can’t collect we can post out. Cost depends on size & weight.

Unleash your inner creative, learn a little, have fun and, above all, enjoy yourself!
