Hi there,

Such a lot of things on the horizon for September so I’ll dive straight in.

Current and Upcoming Events
On at the moment and untill September 8th
, is the Summer Exhibition: The Shropshire Guild of Contemporary Craft at The Willow Gallery in Oswestry. Our Guild facebook page has the latest.
The Willow is a treasure; a beautiful space to view original art and designer craft and a fab eatery alongside. Well worth a visit.

I’ll be there on Saturday 1st September for a ‘Meet the Makers’ event with some work in progress and chatting about the whys and wherefores of my work. 11am – 2pm.

Saturday Sepetmber 8th is the start of h.Art – Herefordshire’s famous art week. I am participating at 2 venues:

Venue Number 10, Trumpet Corner Tearooms & Galleries & Ed Elliott, near Ledbury. I am a regular at Trumpet and was there for h.Art last year.
We have a great line up again this year, you wont be dissappointed. And you can also indulge in award winning refreshments. I expect to be at Trumpet at least on
Saturday 8th, Thursday 13th and Sunday 16th, the last day. We have daily Meet the Makers at noon!
The Trumpet Trail shows you all the local venues in East Herefordshire, so you can make a day in the area.

Venue Number 102, Autumn Medley curated by Drusilla Cole at Aardvark Books, Brampton Bryan. This exhibition continues an extra week after h.Art and finishes on Sunday 23rd September.
I exhibited at Aardvark earlier this year and am delighted to be included there for h.Art. We have a Private View on Saturday 8th, 11am.
Aardvark is another fab venue with specialist refreshments and the most wonderful book shop. I expect to be there at least on
Sunday 9th, Saturday 15th and Saturday 22nd.
The Northen Lights Route, shows the other venues in North Herefordshire.

Here is your invitation to the PV

Saturday 29th -Sunday 30th is Malvern Autumn Show. The show to round off the gardening year and so much more with fun activities for the whole family celebrating all that is good about Autumn. I will again be with The Worcestershire Guild of Contemporary Craft in the Guild of Crafts Section. Save with advance tickets now available.

Workshop News
I’m fully booked for September and most of October. I may be able to run midweek workshops in October so contact me if that suits you too.  November/December including Christmas workshops going online soon.

I recently had my youngest student ever, along with her Aunt. Here is what they made in a beginners class.

New Stockist
I am delighted to be the first Designer Craft partner at Acoustic Boutique in Shrewsbury. A fabulous lifestyle store in the heart of the town, stocking the best audio and visual brands and some super stylish designer furniture. A beautiful backdrop for my glass which marries art and function. William Morris’s quote sums it up however, I always say “have both beauty and form whenever you can!”

We’ll be re-vamping the website soon, with a new look and lots more images. You’ll still be able to easily find the section you are most interested in, be it workshops, buying or commissioning glass or just the bloggy/newsy page like this one.

And finally, I really hope you had a great summer, the weather has been a delight and I trust you were able to make the most of it, eating out of doors, pottering in the garden well into the evenings and just chilling as the sun set.
I always look forward to Autumn with its spectacular light and colours and I can’t wait to see how the long, dry summer will have affected our ‘fall’.

Until then though, enjoy the last days of August (I’ve got a birthday coming so I know I will!). jill
